BIG SKY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARDED FUNDING FOR BRESNAN
Tony Preite, Director of The Montana Department of Commerce, recently notified Big Sky Economic Development Authority [EDA] that their proposal for $230,000 to assist in the expansion of Bresnan Communications has been awarded.
The funding, which is based on Bresnan creating 46 net new full-time jobs that pay at least $17.18 per hour excluding benefits, will come from the state’s Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund Program, a state-wide economic development program that was conceived by Big Sky EDA in 2005.
Any company planning to expand its workforce should contact Big Sky Economic Development [406-256-6871] to see if they qualify for assistance. EDA also facilitates funds for workforce training, facility and equipment expansion, and assists with tax abatements.
Bresnan Communications opened in Billings on April 1, 2005 with 200 employees. Today, Bresnan employs approximately 665 Montana residents. The onsite Network Operations Center provides network monitoring, troubleshooting and repair for Bresnan’s entire high-speed data network.
